March Madness Tips Off At This Tech Startup
Itââ¬â¢s that time of year! Thatââ¬â¢s right, the time of year nobody at the office even cares about except for the two people that went to top basketball schools - one of which didnââ¬â¢t make the tournament, and the other isnââ¬â¢t even a Final Four pick for the alleged ââ¬Å"I bleed Duke blueâ⬠supporter. This year, we are each putting in $15 and winner takes all (a few of us have been eyeing the Steph Curry jersey). How else do we create buy-in, right? Anyway, brackets are filled, stakes are high and games are starting. Letââ¬â¢s dive right into it. Introducing, the 2016 NCAA Brackets Overview: Lydia ââ¬Å"Lidsâ⬠Fayalââ¬â¢s knowledge on sports is as extensive as her familiarity on Fermetââ¬â¢s Last Theorem - close to none. As such, her bracket consists of diversified influence from ââ¬Å"which school is preppiest,â⬠her boyfriendââ¬â¢s also-close-to-none-knowledge on basketball, and fortune cookies from the Chinese restaurant down the street. Lids has UVA beating Villanova in the finals. Jamil ââ¬Å"Silent Killa Jâ⬠Al-Ghosein is an out-of-the-box thinker. Most people use a combination of season performance, playing style, team dynamics, coaching and intuition to map out their brackets, but Killa J uses none of that. He placed the mascots in an hypothetical cage match to the death and see who came out alive. He has UConn beating Pitt, and has UVA, UNC and Kansas out on first round. Thank you to the office comedians and their hilarious brackets, now letââ¬â¢s take a look at the real contenders: While most people may treat brackets as a leisurely activity, Drew ââ¬Å"The Big Dâ⬠Evans is all about ââ¬Å"business before pleasureâ⬠- and brackets are pure business. Thus, he put aside his Michigan roots and has UNC beating Kansas in the finals with an all-around solid bracket. Similarly, Steph ââ¬Å"Shyumaiâ⬠Shyu bleeds blue and is religiously faithful to Duke. But she knows better. In spite of clutching onto a sliver of hope for a repeat championship, she knows that Duke doesnââ¬â¢t stand a chance this year. Shyumai has Michigan State beating Oklahoma in the finals - realistic, but, for some reason, has Duke making it all the way to the quarter finals. Allan ââ¬Å"Mad Vibezâ⬠Buntoengsuk also has Michigan State beating Oklahoma in the finals. Honestly, he probably copied Stephââ¬â¢s brackets. His sole focus this month is on ââ¬Å"designing dope sh*t.â⬠Frances ââ¬Å"Black Soulâ⬠Wong is a Georgetown alum and extremely bitter about the Hoyas not making it this year. Going against her upbringing of being righteous, building karma and paying it forward (sheââ¬â¢s the do-gooder behind despite her nickname), her bracket is based strictly on a ââ¬Å"payback for Georgetownâ⬠model. She has Michigan State beating Kansas for the win. Oakley ââ¬Å"Lion Childâ⬠Purchase had zero interest in brackets, but as soon as he learned there was money involved, he became a bracketology and statistical analysis expert within a matter of minutes. Backed by Excel sheets and Conor McGregor motivational quotes, Lion Childââ¬â¢s prediction also has Michigan State beating Kansas on April 4th. Ed ââ¬Å"Eazy-Eâ⬠Ong is undoubtedly the biggest trash talker on and off the courts. Heââ¬â¢s gone on record multiple times that heââ¬â¢s never lost a NCAA bracket pool. Will he finally succumb to his first loss this time around or achieve that fictional win he keeps talking about? Weââ¬â¢ll find out. He also predicts Michigan State prevailing over Kansas in the finals. Ryan ââ¬Å"Yarnâ⬠Kwok has Kansas beating UVA in the finals. Heââ¬â¢s going to win. He should take everyoneââ¬â¢s money right now. Save the trouble of speculation. Is it obvious Iââ¬â¢m writing about myself in third-person? Jerry ââ¬Å"Jer Bearâ⬠Huyghe looks human but is actually a calculated and high-functioning warlock. His methods are unconventional to the untrained eye but has constantly proven to be of success (read: proprietary algorithm). Jer Bear foretells Kansas beating UNC in the finals. Julia ââ¬Å"Fairy Potionâ⬠Marsh didnââ¬â¢t create a bracket, but created the biggest upset already by not joining the pool. WHY JULIA, WHY!!!!!!! And finally, President Obama has Kansas beating UNC. President Obama if youââ¬â¢re reading this, please join our pool, that would be super cool. By the way, I already spotted your buy-in. Dont even trip, its on me. Thatââ¬â¢s all, folks! If you want more March Madness, check out our very own college traditions bracket.Keep an eye out for power rankings next week!

Profit Maximisation Model Essay Example
Profit Maximisation Model Essay Example Profit Maximisation Model Essay Profit Maximisation Model Essay Profit Maximization model helps to predict the price-output behavior of a firm under changing market conditions like tax rates, wages and salaries, bonus, the degree of availability of resources, technology, fashions, tastes and preferences of consumers etc. It is a very simple and unambiguous model. It is the single most ideal model that can explain the normal behavior of a firm. It is often argued that no other alternative hypothesis can explain and predict the behavior of business firms better than profit-maximization hypothesis. This model gives a proper insight in to the working behavior of a firm. There are well developed mathematical models to explain this hypothesis in a systematic and scientific manner. Profit-maximization implies earning highest possible amount of profits during a given period of time. A firm has to generate largest amount of profits by building optimum productive capacity both in the short run and long run depending upon various internal and external factor s and forces. There should be proper balance between short run and long run objectives. In the short run a firm is able to make only slight or minor adjustments in the production process as well as in business conditions. The plant capacity in the short run is fixed and as such, it can increase its production and sales by intensive utilization of existing plants and machineries, having over time work for the existing staff etc. Thus, in the short run, a firm has its own technical and managerial constraints. But in the long run, as there is plenty of time at the disposal of a firm, it can expand and add to the existing capacities, build up new plants, employ additional workers etc to meet the rising demand in the market. Thus, in the long run, a firm will have adequate time and ample opportunity to make all kinds of adjustments and readjustments in production process and in its marketing strategies. It is to be noted with great care that a firm has to maximize its profits after taking in to consideration of various factors in to account. They are as follows: 1. Pricing and business strategies of rival firms and its impact on the working of the given firm. 2. Aggressive sales promotion policies adopted by rival firms in the market. 3. Without inducing the workers to demand higher wages and salaries leading to rise in operation costs. 4. Without inducing the workers to demand higher wages and salaries government controls and takeovers. 5. Maintaining the quality of the product and services to the customers. 6.Taking various kings of risks and uncertainties in the changing business environment. 7. Adopting a stable business policy. 8. Avoiding any sort of clash between short run and long run profits in the business policy and maintaining proper balance between them. 9. Maintaining its reputation, name, fame and image in the market. 10. Profit maximization is necessary in both perfect and imperfect markets. In a perfect market, a firm is a price-taker and under imperf ect market it becomes a price-searcher.

Commercial Law Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3000 words - 2
Commercial Law - Essay Example many are those who have said that ââ¬Å"the core objective of undertaking commercial and thus creating a commercial atmosphere in any country would failâ⬠2. For example if commerce or the act of doing business is not regulated, chances are that people would seek to make money through the wrong means and there will be no way of checking how much a person makes and through what means so that the needed agencies including government would have the right allocation of taxes to benefit the larger population. But when arguing for the regularization of businesses or commercial activities, many are those who have questioned how the regulations should be carried out, with a lot more people touching on the possible use of a commercial code3. This paper therefore addresses the question of whether or not the United Kingdom needs such a commercial code that have been practiced and used in other jurisdictions including Germany and Turkey. A commercial code is a form of regulation that guides and governs the way and manner in which the commercial institution of any country or given region should operate. It is therefore said to be ââ¬Å"a codification of governing laws for all commercial entities within an identified setting including trade, merchants, companies, commercial bargains, and commercial contractsâ⬠4. The emphasis here therefore is that the commercial code is a standardised document that clearly states all laws that should guide the way commerce should be undertaken from both a practical and theoretical perspective. These laws are also taken from a private law perspective even though it may be regulated on a national basis in most cases. Commonly, the aspects of private laws that will be included in a commercial code includes but not limited to ââ¬Å"sales of goods, leases of goods, business contractual agreements, negotiable instruments, fiscal deposits, letters of credit, investment securities, amo ng othersâ⬠5. Once the laws that should guide trade and business are

Size Exclusion Chromatography- Protein Separation Polyacrylamide Gel Lab Report
Size Exclusion Chromatography- Protein Separation Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis - Lab Report Example These standards were used to plot the calibration curve. The retention times, which is equivalent to elution volume (Ve) of each protein was plotted as a function of the log 10 of the molecular weight of the standards as shown in figure two. This calibration curve was used to estimate the relative molecular weights of the unknown samples. The Value for X and Y in this function is equivalent to elution volume (Ve) and Log10 of the molecular weight. Substituting Ve with the retention time value, the Log M and molecular weights of the unknown samples were determined as shown on table three below. Size exclusion chromatography is a HPLC technique that separates molecules based on their size or molecular weight (Bernd, 2). Using this technique the molecular weight of five unknown protein molecules was estimated as shown in table three. However, the validation assay of the technique did not give expected resolution, limits the validity of the results. Clear and distinct peaks on this graph depict a high resolution of the assay and thus credible results. A number of factors; such as column length, flow rate and technical errors may have influenced the poor resolution of the peaks in the UV protein absorption profile (Hong and Fountain, 5-6). Further optimization experiments may be necessary to overcome these errors and achieve a good

Cultural Reflection Paper. African American culture Term Paper
Cultural Reflection . African American culture - Term Paper Example He believes that the biasness of the people around him is uncalled for as he has to face quite a lot of problems at the hands of the other American citizens. Socio-economically speaking, the Black American is not having a good time at having links with the people who live within the country. He is usually stereotyped for all the wrong reasons (Day, 1998). He is often seen as someone who might be involved in a crime that happens within the country. It does not matter if this Black American is a male or a female. The fact that he is Black American would lead to a typecast of sorts and thus disrupt his behavior within the American society (Carson, 2010). The Black American is therefore being distinguished and differentiated on a number of facets like language, religion, occupation, gender and just about any other factor. His cultural ramifications are such that he is unable to come to terms with the other Americans for obvious reasons.

The Challenges Facing Cross Culture Communication Business Essay
The Challenges Facing Cross Culture Communication Business Essay The organization shall understand that effective and efficient communication among its resources smoothen its managerial process and enhance the effective decision making capabilities. Since the organizations are on globalization spree shall strive to realize and achieve this even more. To stabilize the efficient communication process within the organizational teams of cross culture blend, it faces many challenges. The basic areas of conflict are: Communication styles. Approach towards completion of task. Conflict facing attitude. Decision making process. Zeal towards new learning. Fairness in disclosures. Organization shall always enable positive dialogue space, reward the new learners and freedom of expression rather than allow room for misjudging and miscommunication. An organization which is on globalization spree has to understand that culture is a major hurdle to overcome and important strength to harness and enjoy its benefits, as culture provides greater opportunities and resources to fasten organizational proposed growth projectile. Reference: www.citehr.com/5782-cross-cultural-conflicts-ppt.html Quality management Cross Culture perspective There have been many scholars and academicians who have studied and helped to enhance the understanding of effective cross culture management, among them is Dr. Geert Hofstede. His research and in-depth understanding of various cultural dimensions has evolved essentialistic model of the worlds cultural map which is now and international standard for understanding of cultural regions. Geert Hofstede Cultural Dimensions Power distance index (PDI) Individualism (IDV) Masculinity (MAS) Uncertainty avoidance index (UAI) Long-term orientation (LTO) Dimension United Kingdoms Greet Hofstede Cultural Dimensions Reference: Sigmatwogroup.com Trompenaars and Charles Hampden-Turner Cultural Perspective The other major research of cultural orientation was by Fons Trompenaars and Dr. Charles Hampden-Turner. They both have developed a model of culture with seven dimensions. A set of five orientations encompass the ways in which humans deal with each other: Universalism vs. particularism i.e. preference of importance to either rules or relationships Individualism vs. collectivism i.e. preference towards being in group or individual for any cultural events. Neutral vs. emotional i.e. openness in displaying emotions. Specific vs. diffuse i.e. importance to responsibilities accepted. Achievement vs. ascription i.e. inclinations to the social statuses that is achieved by birth or have to work for it. Sequential vs. synchronic i.e the approach or process of doing task. Each society looks different in the approach of work: Internal vs. external control i.e. how are we controlled by the environment that we belong to. Anthropologists in cross-culture management Looking into the various growing economies and industry verticals opting the globalization route it is very clear that it is not always easy to manage the cross culture resources using the essentialistic perspectives like those of Hofstede (1990) and Trompenaars (1993). Their work has only developed cultural map of the world having scores and indexes for understanding the cultural diversities. These indexes only dramatically simply the cultural concepts but in real situations there is lot of variations between espoused values and actual behaviour. Generally consultants utilize their experiences rather than depend on these model values. Consultants tend to use anthropologists views rather than cooperates developed essentialistic perspective. Though anthropologists are good arriving at realistic solution for quality cross culture management but are not good at selling their views to industries. But consultants though not anthropologists but can sell themselves to the industries. Solution An organization has to understand and implement one old saying that goes saying as live in Rome as Roman do. The organization shall pave way for a process development methodology that gives opportunity to the resources to rise and discuss circumstances at workplace along with behaviours and understand each others perspective. The organization shall obtain first hand research on the regional culture that they are venturing into. The organization shall not only tackle the difficulties as they arise but should learn from them. The organization shall make sure that its resource is well equipped to manage all circumstances that they would be drawn into. The organization should have to undertake proper training to its human resources both for process and methodology development and also for new advents in information technologies. Anthropologist is one who understands the culture, belief, and practices of living people in much better way than the normal human being. A growing organization which have opted the route of internationalization shall always take advices from an anthropologist or have resource who can think likewise an anthropologist. So that the subtle inter cultural issues are addressed at the earliest and in most amicable way. Conclusion I found the coverage of topics in the provided source materials to be very exhaustive and informative regarding the cross culture management. The Importance of Non-conformity and Independent Beliefs in Ralph Waldo
In Ralph Waldo Emersonââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Self-Reliance,â⬠Emerson calls for each person in society to be wholly true to themselves. He claims that it is most rewarding to the individual and the society for people to believe in oneââ¬â¢s own thoughts and not in the thoughts of others. Emerson believes that conformity will ultimately lead to an individualââ¬â¢s demise because by living for others, people are not being true to themselves. Therefore in order to have a well-formed society, citizens should focus inward and have confidence in their own ideas before beginning to look towards other individuals; moreover, Emerson calls individuals not only in ââ¬Å"Self-Reliance,â⬠but also in numerous essays to act independently from conformity and to live for themselves. Ralph Waldo Emersonââ¬â¢s main theme in ââ¬Å"Self-Relianceâ⬠places emphasis on the individualââ¬â¢s ideas and not the ideas of others. Emerson strongly believes that ââ¬Å"imitation is suicide.â⬠To Emerson, if a person possesses an opinion, the person should voice that opinion immediately without doubt. As Emerson states, ââ¬Å"History, and the state of the world at any one time is directly dependent on the intellectual classification then existing in the minds of men. Beware when God lets loose a great thinker on this planet. Then all things are at risk. The very hopes of man, the thoughts of his heart, the religion of nations, the manner and morals of mankind are all at the mercy of a new generalization.â⬠(Dewey 408). He calls for people to have confidence in themselves and to cease living by the worldââ¬â¢s universal ideas. He places great importance on the fact that a person should always be true to himself or herself. He believes that if people begin living according to everyone elseââ¬â¢s wishes, they will ... .../p41728_index.html> Yannella, Donald. "Chapter 3: Self-Evolving Circle." Ralph Waldo Emerson. Persephone falling
Notes on Rata Dove's Mother Love Persephone, Falling Based on the Greek myth of Demeter and her daughter Persephone (see Foreword), Dove creates a modern story of the event of Persephone capture by Hades. There is an overriding theme of danger and disobedience throughout the poem. The young girl's innocence, captured in the description of her as a beautiful narcissus is juxtaposed by her act of careless disobedience (she had strayed from the herd) when she refused to heed the warning of her parent. One cannot overlook the pun on the word ââ¬Å"herdâ⬠at the end of the first stanza. There is an element of self- imposed danger versus the danger lurking around. In stanza one, the captor is conveyed as the devil lurking in the underworld waiting to take the unsuspecting victim ââ¬Å"sprung out Of the earthâ⬠. Yet in stanza 2, the poem seems to apply some blame on the child who does not pay attention to the warnings of a parent ââ¬Å"this is how easily the pit opens. This is h ow one foot sinks into the groundâ⬠.One the one hand the peril comes about by the ââ¬Ëterribleâ⬠prey that springs upon the helpless by surprise just as it is said in the Holy Bible's reference to he devil roaming around the earth as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. This reading of the poem with biblical reference is underscored by the name Hades in the Greek myth itself, as well as, the biblical reference is also seen in the line ââ¬Å"it is finishedâ⬠the words quoted in the New Testament Gospel as Jesus final words after his crucifixion. On the other hand, in the last line of the poem, the child faces a demise brought about by her own failure to adhere to good advice (80 % of stanza 2). The victim puts herself in harm's way. The destruction came by choice ââ¬Å"one foot sinksâ⬠Furthermore, Dove extends the threat to the vulnerable by showing various ways by which a youth can be lured away.In ââ¬Å"go straight to schoolâ⬠she speaks to the haphazard, playful child who is easily distracted and lingers away from her course. In ââ¬Å"don't answer to strangersâ⬠she implies a more unsuspecting, innocent whose naivety could get her ensnared but in ââ¬Å"keep your eyes downâ⬠there appears the sexual connotation of the bold daring girl who abandons modesty with boldness and impudence. All of which can lead to an unfortunate circumstance. This poem is not a sonnet nor does it contain any particular rhyme scheme, however the sound and rhythm of the poetic is identified as one reads aloud the internal rhymes of ââ¬Å"flowersâ⬠and ââ¬Å"othersâ⬠; ââ¬Å"heard â⬠and ââ¬Å"herdâ⬠in stanza 1 ; and the end rhymes of ââ¬Å"aroundâ⬠, ââ¬Å"downâ⬠ââ¬Å"groundâ⬠in stanza 2. There is a distinct difference of tone between the two stanzas when the story telling voice of the persona is superseded by the watchful parent who already sees in the child the tendency to be wayward.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE HISTORY essays
SUBSTANCE ABUSE HISTORY essays A diagnostic summary was completed on 10/6/96; Jack Smith is a 41-year-old white male currently living in a small community in southern Ohio. Jack came into the agency involuntarily; his involvement with the agency is a requisite of probation for assault and domestic violence. He was arrested for assaulting his wife during an alcoholic blackout; he was placed on probation for one year on the condition he participates in substance abuse counseling. This is Jacks second involvement with this agency as a result of his alcohol abuse. His first encounter was in 1985, when he underwent after-care counseling with an agency counselor who no longer is employed at this facility. The apparent symptoms of chemical dependency were: 1) Loss of Control - Jack had made several attempts at controlling the amounts of alcohol he consumed, but those times when he was able to abstain from alcohol were when he substituted marijuana and/or other drugs. 2) Blackouts - these began occurring almost daily as a result of his alcohol and marijuana use. 3) Family History of Alcohol/Drug Usage - Jacks natural and adoptive parents, as well as three natural brothers and three natural sisters have used alcohol and/or drugs heavily. 4) Changes in Tolerance - when Jack began drinking at age 15, he soon developed a high tolerance for beer; by age 18, he was drinking six-to nine beers per occasion, and had begun smoking marijuana on these occasions. Before he stopped using marijuana in 1985, he was smoking one-two marijuana joints daily through the week, and five-six joints daily on weekends, as well as drinking the equivalent of a 12-pack of beer daily, occasionally chasing it with w hiskey during the week, and on weekend, consuming the standard 12-pack of beer in addition to half of a fifth of whiskey mixed with soft drinks. 5) Physiological Symptomology - Jack was diagnosed with bleeding ulcers shortly after he began drinking at age 15; ...

Debates in History essays
Debates in History essays Debates in History: Short Academic Review of a book/chapter. ...the power of the image of Shaka lies not, as most previous commentators have suggested, in its openness to manipulation, to invention, and to imaginative reworkings. Rather it is to be found in, ... the historical limits and constraints attached to Shakan historiography...and to the possible depictions of Shaka. In this essay I intend to discuss chapter 2, of Terrific Majesty by Carolyn Hamilton. Throughout history Shaka has been portrayed in many different guises, from a despot and villain, to a hero and military genius. This chapter covers various historical accounts of Shaka, and how interpretations of him as a person differ, according to the perception and the motivation, of the author. I shall be comparing the resources utilised in the book, with those that I am already familiar with, for example Fynn and Isaacs, and with the evidence found in the Praise poems, of the relevant period. The first issue presented by the book is the information supplied by Henry Francis Fynn, who in 1822, was among the first people to encounter and document Shaka and the Zulu tribe. He and Francis Farewell travelled across land from the Cape to meet with Shaka in 1824, for trading purposes. At this time Shaka was depicted as being open to the idea of a British settlement and showed no signs of hostility. To the surprise of the trading party, the Zulus were well ordered and courteous under Shakas ruler ship. On reading an extract from Fynns diary, it is clear that trade which had began with the Zulu nation, under the tyranny of Dingiswayo, continued at a more rapid pace during Shakas rule. In the first year of his chieftainship he opened a trade with Delagoa Bay, by sending 100 oxen and a quantity of elephants tusks to exchange for beads and blankets... the trade thus opened by Dingiswayo was afterwards carried on, on an extensi...

The Indian Removal Act of 1830 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
The Indian Removal Act of 1830 - Essay Example However, the Indian Removal Act 1830 evidently violated the US constitution as the Indians were removed from their land by force. Overview To illustrate, ââ¬Å"the Indian Removal Act of 1830 was the culmination of a decades-long struggle between white and Native Americans over who would control vast tracts of territory that had been Native American lands for many centuriesâ⬠(Tucker, 2011, p.381). As per the provisions of the Act, tens of thousands of the Native Americans were forcibly removed from the east of the Mississippi River. This Act made the prior treaties between the US government and the Native American groups void and the government tried to form new treaties that would better serve the interests of whites. The Act directly affected the Five Civilized Tribes including Choctaws, Cherokees, Chickasaws, Creeks, and Seminoles as they were the main inhabitants of the east Mississippi river. This agricultural land was extremely fruitful for crops like cotton, and many sou therners including some wealthy planters strongly desired the ownership of the land. Although the US Supreme Court had ruled that Native American tribes were sovereign nations and hence State law would not apply to them, President Jackson ignored the court decision and executed forceful removal of Native Americans from their land. Although the Indian Removal Act 1830 was an inhumane course of action that hurt the constitutional rights of people lived at the east Mississippi, it had also some positive effects on American Indian group. The Act and thereby forceful removal of Indians from their territory assisted them to escape from the depredations of whites to some extent. In addition, this change benefited the American Indians to resettle in a region where they could administer themselves without any external pressure. At the same time, the forceful removal adversely affected the economy as well as the social interest of the American Indian group. The American Indians had possessed fruitful agricultural fields until the time of the Act and therefore the forceful removal caused them to experience huge economic losses. In addition to the land loss, they were also forced to leave their homes and livestock behind and this situation caused them to lose what they had built over thousands of years. Historians reveal that this group was relocated to an area which no one needed that time. From an economic point of view, the nation lost several million dollars as part of this law enforcement. Furthermore, this arbitrary law amendment questioned the constitutional rights of American Indian group in the United States. Undoubtedly, the Indian Removal Act 1830 curtailed the fundamental human rights and constitutional rights of the American Indians. Out of the seven principles of the constitution, the seventh principle has specifically defined individual rights.

Financial derivatives Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Financial derivatives - Essay Example While common types of derivatives include assortment of financial contracts which are; Future contracts, options, deposits, forward contracts and swaps. However, derivatives are categorized into three main parts including financial instruments, equities (stocks and shares) and debt (mortgages and bonds). Foreign exchange risk is the risk embodied to earnings or capital arising from change of foreign exchange rates. Foreign exchange risk is related to cross- border investing and operating activities. Position-taking and Market-making in foreign currencies should be placed under price risk. Foreign exchange risk is also branded as translation risk. The risk ascends from holding accrual accounts with foreign denomination currency, including bonds, debts and deposits. This also embodies foreign currency denominated derivatives such as structured deposits, synthetic investments, structured notes, and off-balance-sheet derivatives used to mitigate accrual exposures (Shim & Siegel, 2008). Accounting conventions need periodic revaluation of these accounts at current exchange rates. Periodic revaluation decodes the foreign- denominated accounts into U.S. dollar currency. Banks should record these accrual-based products under appropriate systems that detect, calibrate, monitor, and regulate foreign exchange exposure. This may be useful to banks in managing Foreign exchange risk (Shim & Siegel, 2008). Financial derivatives are used either for management of risk i.e. hedging risk by provision of compensation in case of unwanted situation arbitrage between markets. Derivatives can be used for speculation purposes i.e. making financial bet. This difference is vital because risk management is a discreet aspect of financial management and operations for a lot of companies across different industries while speculation purpose offers managers and investors a risky chance to increase profit, which may not be revealed appropriately to
